Greetings! I’m Eric Metzler, CrossFit Bloomington’s Welcoming Coach, and I want to get to know YOU!
My fitness journey began in the swimming pool when I was about a year old, as I learned to swim about the same time I learned to walk. I swam in AAU events and then played water polo and swam breaststroke and the individual medley in junior high and high school. After high school, I continued to swim, but not competitively.
I have remained physically active all my adult life, but fitness was not fun for me until I found CrossFit. Before CrossFit, I worked out because I “had” to, not because I enjoyed it – or even liked it.
All that changed in 2011 when I decided to give CrossFit a try. I was hooked from my very first session in Foundations. The variety, the challenge, the community, and the results have kept me an engaged and avid member and coach in our community. Now, I can honestly say that my hour working out with friends in the box is the best part of my day.
I specialize in listening to your needs and explaining how CrossFit works as a concept so that you feel safe, comfortable, and informed. If you are reading this, I hope I will have a chance to meet you and introduce you to our box (gym).
